Segmented Vessels

Segmented vessels are made with a process that starts with small pieces of wood that are glued up to create the basic bowl or vessel, then turned to get the thickness and shape desired. Segmentation allows use of wood that would otherwise be wasted, and allows the inclusion of other woods to create interesting patterns beyond that of the grain of the wood. Our segmented vessels use Hawaiian grown woods for the basis of the item, but may also include other exotic woods to create interesting and special patterns or effects. Creating a segmented vessel takes longer than turning an item of the same size and shape from a raw block of wood.
